Perimeter security that's truly electric

The best security keeps trouble out before it starts. We supply and install electric fencing for residential and industrial clients, using accredited Stafix and Nemtek products — two of the most trusted names in perimeter security. A properly installed electric fence is a legal, effective deterrent that protects your property, family and assets, and complies with South African regulations for installation and signage.

Stafix & Nemtek Accredited Products

We are accredited partners of Stafix and Nemtek — genuine energisers and quality materials only.

Compliant Installation

Correct earthing, tensioning and signage in line with SANS 10222 standards.

Repairs & Upgrades

Faulty energisers, sagging wires, overgrown vegetation — we restore your fence to full strength.

Integration with Alarms & Gates

Link your fence alarm to your security system and gate automation for a complete perimeter.

Electric Fence Certificates (EFC) & Transfers

When you sell a property with an electric fence, you need a valid Electric Fence Certificate of Compliance from a registered installer, alongside the electrical CoC. We inspect existing installations, fix what fails, and issue the EFC so your transfer does not stall at the attorneys.

Lightning Protection & Earthing

In the Eastern Cape, lightning is a real threat to your energiser. Every compliant installation includes proper earthing and a lightning inhibitor and diverter, which is a legal requirement and not an optional extra. We add the protection at install time so a strike does not take your whole fence down with it.

Battery Backup for Loadshedding

An electric fence that goes dead during a power cut leaves your perimeter open exactly when the lights go out. We fit energisers with sealed batteries or add a power pack that doubles your backup time, and the system recharges automatically when the power comes back.

Warning Signage & Safety Compliance

SANS 10222 requires yellow warning signs at all gates and access points, spaced no more than ten metres apart in built-up areas. We supply and fit compliant signs at the right heights and positions, and we make sure the fence is safe around children, visitors and animals.

What to Expect

Real jobs, honest expectations

Typical projects we handle

  • Freehold homes where the fence tops a boundary wall and must stay compliant for insurance and resale
  • Complexes and security estates fencing the full perimeter with multiple gates and alarm monitoring
  • Business premises with parking yards and delivery entrances that need higher energiser capacity
  • Farm and rural properties running solar-powered energisers in areas without reliable mains power

What affects the price

  • Boundary length and wall height, since the metres of wire, brackets and bobbins add up quickly on a bigger property
  • The energiser size and brand, with Stafix and Nemtek units chosen for the fence length and number of zones
  • Earthing and lightning protection, which are legally required and vary with soil conditions and how exposed the site is to storms
  • Compliance extras like warning signs, the EFC inspection and certification, plus alarm integration if you want fence monitoring on your system

FAQ

Electric Fencing — common questions

Is an electric fence legal?+

Yes, when installed to SANS 10222 standards with the required warning signs and correct earthing. Our installations are fully compliant.

Can you install an electric fence on an existing wall?+

Yes. We install electric fencing on top of existing walls and palisade fencing, and can also do the fencing itself where needed.

Do electric fences use a lot of electricity?+

No. Electric fence energisers draw very little power, and many run on battery backup so the fence stays active during load shedding.

What brands do you use?+

We are accredited partners of Stafix and Nemtek and install their energisers and components — trusted brands with proper local support.

What is an Electric Fence Certificate (EFC) and do I need one?+

An EFC confirms your fence meets SANS 10222-3 and the Electrical Machinery Regulations, and it can only be issued by a registered Electric Fence System Installer. You need one when you sell the property, when your insurance is assessed, and whenever the Department of Employment and Labour asks for it. If your fence was put up before October 2012, you still need the certificate when the property changes hands.

Will my electric fence turn off during loadshedding?+

Not if it is installed with a backup battery. Every compliant energiser is fitted with a sealed battery, and we can add a power pack to stretch the backup time through longer outages. The fence keeps delivering its shock through the power cuts and the battery recharges when supply returns.

Can my insurance claim be rejected because of my electric fence?+

Yes, it can. If your fence is not compliant or has no EFC, insurers have been known to decline claims for a damaged fence, stolen household contents and even personal liability if someone is injured on the fence. If your fence is listed as a security measure, keeping it compliant and certified is in your own interest.

How far apart do the warning signs need to be?+

According to the regulations, yellow warning signs must be fixed at all gates and access points, and along public roads and pathways. In urban areas the gap between signs must not be more than ten metres. Each sign needs to be at least 100 by 200 millimetres and clearly visible.
